BIANCA
There was a girl, and I made a promise. Bianca is the only story I can never tell.
|
FENRIS
He's down in castmates.
|
KARA
Kara is sweet. She's... refreshing after dealing with South for a while, that's for sure.
|
"JOKER"
No point in giving him a nickname when he already has one.
|
MOONBAY
Moonbay might be a smuggler from the future, but Varric finds her pretty awesome so far.
|
KIRK
TBD
|
CHLOE
A juvenile delinquent. Varric is sorely afraid she'll get her ass owned, seeing as she's a skinny bitch, so he wants to protect her.

"BROODY"
Fenris comes from a place called Exsilium that sounds like utter shit. Varric's just glad he's okay. The broody elf deserves so much better than what he got.
|
"BLONDIE"
Varric has made up with him somewhat and apologized for treating him like a criminal when he hadn't done anything wrong yet. A part of him wonders if he can just... steer Anders away from what he'll eventually become.
|
"KID"
Cole is... something else. He's childish and curious, and he knows all of Varric's secrets. Varric is unnerved by this, obviously, but then he went paternal and the rest is history.
|
"INQUISITOR"
Jove Lavellan is the leader of the Inquisition, and hails from Varric's future. She's kind, witty, and puts up with him. He likes her already.
|
"SEEKER"
Despite putting a dagger nearly through his crotch, Varric has come to the conclusion that maybe she's... not so bad. But she sure is fun to tease.
|
ALISTAIR
This isn't the Alistair that Varric traveled with, but he's familiar all the same. Varric will take care not to swoop.
|
"WARDEN"
A different Grey Warden, and this one is a human noble. The Couslands all got slaughtered, Varric heard. He's deigned not to bring this up.
|
"HAWKE"
The Hawke he remembers. She comes from a shitty guilt-ridden future, but as long as Varric's alive, he won't let anything happen to her.
|
"CHUCKLES"
Some egghead from the future.
|
| everyone else |
"SHADES"
Varric has long since gotten over the demon bit since Crowley is about as dangerous as a nug in day to day life. Now they're racketeering and fixing prices in the Drift Fleet economy. Life is good.
|
"VIOLET"
A not!mage who can use magic. Nice and fiery judging by the lecture she gave after Robin's 'murder'. Varric likes her for her spunk and for taking care of Nel.
|
"PATCHES"
Nel is somewhere between 'horribly abused elf' and 'bury the sadness'. Apparently a former (?) slave. Varric wants to help him, immensely.
|
ROBIN
Varric finds him sly and interesting. He also found out that Fenris killed him over owning a slave. Not cool, dude.
|
SOKKA
Yet another teenager. Maker's breath, there's so many hormones in here that he can't breathe. This kid also doesn't seem to understand the concept of dwarves, but he's all right.
|
AIYA
Gray Nightingale, not to be confused with Lady Nightingale. A mage who refuses to consider that maybe using magic on people without their permission is a Bad Idea.
|
"ACE"
Kirito wasn't very impressive at first, but Varric took a liking to him because of his resemblance to Carver and his practicality for weapons. He's also great at, like, everything. Despite his age. Pretty nice kid.
|
"SLICK"
Allen is a good kid. Now that Varric is convinced the Blood Drive isn't a ploy to control the entire Fleet via blood magic, Varric's sort of sponsoring him.
|
"VELVET"
His non-human friend is back! And she's as bright and sassy as ever. He's glad. Life would be a lot less awesome without Lioriley around, honestly.

APPROVAL
He is open to sharing his 'business' with others, but stiffing him or treating him like anything less than a friend will definitely cause him to become more frigid toward you.
Don't question his past too deeply or point out his deflections if you want him to trust you. He doesn't mind bending the rules or lying to get things done, but heartless bastards and fanatics rub him the wrong way. Closed-minded sorts are especially difficult for Varric to deal with, as his alignment is firmly Chaotic Good.
The quickest way to Varric's chest hair is by buying him a drink and listening to his stories.
--
Generally I track approval loss/gain in terms of 5 points (or percentage, since the chart is tables). Major events will cause greater approval changes.
The bar will go up depending on things Varric has witnessed or conversations he's had with or about your character. Everyone he has a constructive conversation with starts at 10 percent. At 50%, he'll make up his mind whether your character is a friend or a foe, and the meter will turn blue or red depending.
